Nepal has a lot to offer to trekkers who are hunting adventures and classic trekking routes. One of the best trekking destinations in Nepal is Langtang Gosaikunda Trek.

Langtang Gosainkunda trek is one of the most alluring and exquisite trekking routes in the Rasuwa district of Nepal. This beautiful trek has become more popular for almost a decade and still an ongoing trend. This region has become a dream trek for all those seeking to enjoy nature, exploring the panoramic view of the mid-hills and high-altitude lakes. Thousands of national as well as international tourists visit the holy Gosaikunda Lake every year. Especially the Hindus and Buddhists for divine purposes, whereas the others for witnessing natural sites.

The region itself is a national park named Langtang national park, surrounded by flora and faunas, containing one of the most beautiful lakes of Nepal, Gosaikunda. Gosaikunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake located at an elevation of 4,380 m in the Rasuwa District.

The trek is almost 14 days long which begins from Kathmandu. Driving to the syabru besi place in the Rasuwa district, you will be starting your teahouse trek. Walking along the Langtang Gosainkunda trail, one can spot the beautiful Tamang village surrounded by its amazing scenic nature, including forest, waterfalls, river, mighty Himalayas, several lakes, including the crystal clear Gosainkunda itself. The Gosaikunda Lake forms by the combination of Saraswati Kunda and Bhairav Kunda. Many Hindu pilgrims visit this lake for holistic purposes every year.

The trekking route passes through rhododendron and oak forests, and if you are lucky, you might spot the rare pandas. On the starting day, we will drive to Syabrubesi village and trek to Lama Hotel. Then we will continue the trail to Langtang village. From here, we will visit Kyanjin Gompa and acclimatize the place and descend to Lama Hotel. From Lama Hotel, we will trek to Gosaikunda via Thulosyabru and Cholanpati. Finally, our trek ends at Dhunche.

We have scheduled the itinerary packages as per the convenience of our trekkers. If you would like to add or reduce some stuff from the scheduled itinerary, you can freely suggest us. We give our best to make your trekking days comfortable and memorable.

Furthermore, talking our the Meals facilities, Buffet breakfast is included in the bill in Kathmandu. We offer three meals daily (e.g., breakfast, luncheon, dinner daily) as provided in our lodge and tea house from the selected menu. Food during the trek is not as good as Kathmandu Most of the cuisine is nevertheless cooked by their local folks. The meal is biological, delicious, and healthful.

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal.

After you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will be waiting for you at the departure gate. He will drive you to the Hotel where you can freshen up. You can enjoy the nearby places in your spare time. In the evening we will be organizing a welcome dinner and will be explaining about the journey. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 2 : Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,440m/4,724ft)

After having breakfast, we will have a drive to Syabrubesi village. The route passes along the beautiful scenarios of the vegetation and landscapes. After that, we will be heading deeper into the rural areas of Nepal. The trails are primarily graveled in the hills. After 7 to 8 hours of ride, we will reach Syabrubesi village. Overnight stay in Syabrubesi.

Day 3 : Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,470m/8,104ft)

Commencing our trek, we will head for Lama Hotel. Then, we will cross the bridge over the Trishuli river from Syabrubesi village. For the first half, routes are plain and straight, passing through the forests towards the hill. We will continue walking for the next few hours. When the forest starts getting clear, you will know that we are near to Lama Hotel. On the way, you can see Tibetan-influenced lifestyle settlements. Overnight stay in Lama Hotel.

Day 4 : Lama Hotel to Langtang (3,430m/11,253ft)

After having breakfast, we will continue the trial. Today we will be trekking towards Langtang. The path passes along the beautiful valley's dominant peak and flattering Langtang Lirung. We will be hiking through the steep-sided valley, which is full of rhododendron and oak forests. Langtang village has changed its origin since the tragic landslide that occurred in 2015. We will pause at Ghora Tabela army check post for registration, cross to the river's east side, and head towards the valley. Tamang community people mostly inhabit this place. Overnight stay in Langtang village.

Day 5 : Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft)

Continuing the trek, we will ascend towards Kyanjin Gompa. You will pass through the villages and meadows. The valley offers you the view of far-reaching panoramas. The path passes many tributaries and a glacial moraine. Finally, after 4/5 hours of trek, we will reach Kyanjin Gompa. This place is named after the ancient monastery of Kyanjin Gompa; this monastery was also affected by the earthquake. You can climb to Kyajo Ri (5150m) for the amazing view of the mountains in the evening. Overnight stay in Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 6 : Climb to Tsherko Ri (4,984m/16,351ft) and back to Kyanjin Gompa.

Today, we will spend our days as an acclimatization day in Kyanjin Gompa. Then, we will have our breakfast and hike to the upper Langtang valley. There are broad landscapes that offer many views of mountain ranges. We can also visit the Yak cheese factory and the monastery. Then we will climb to the viewpoint of Tsherko RI (4,984m/16,351ft). From here we can see the peaks of Langtang Lirung (7227m), Yala peak (5500m), Langtang II (6596m), etc. Finally, we will return to Kyanjin Gompa for the night.

Day 7 : Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2,470m/8,104ft)

After having breakfast, we will descend from the valley towards Lama Hotel, following the same route. We will pass through the same army check post and pass along the dense forest and the rivers. Finally, after 5 to 6 hours, we will reach Lama Hotel. Overnight stay in Lama Hotel.

Day 8 : Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2,250m/7,380ft)

Today we will descend towards Thulo Syabru. First, we will move to the bank of Langtang Khola and cross the mini waterfall. Then, we will pass along the Langtang River through the bamboo forest. Finally, we will reach Thulo Syabru after crossing the suspension bridge. From here you can have a great view of mountain peaks to the north. Overnight stay in Thulo Syabru.

Day 9 : Thulo Syabru to Cholangpati (3,650m/11,980ft)

We will have our breakfast, then continue the steps towards Cholangpati. We will climb upwards after passing the army checkpoint and reach Darang. From Darang, the path gets steeper through the oak forest. Passing through this forest, you might, by chance, spot a red panda which is rare in Nepal. We will continue the paths through the rhododendron forest and reach Dhimsa. After few hours of walk from Dhimsa, we will get Cholangpati. Overnight stay in Cholangpati

Day 10 : CholangPati to Gosainkunda (4,460m/14,400ft)

Today we will be hiking for the most beautiful destination that is Gosaikunda. First, we will start climbing upwards, from where you will get a beautiful view of Langtang Himal (7234m). Then we will be walking through the desolation mountain trail. As we go higher, you will start spotting many Himalayan ranges. After few hours, we will reach Laure Binayak, from where we will start climbing uphill to Gosaikunda. We will be trekking steeply for 2 hours to reach Gosaikunda. The hours of the walk well worth the view. Here you will see the flattering picture of waterfalls, Saraswati Kunda and Bhairav Kunda. Gosaikunda is also a holistic place for Hindus as a place favored by Lord Shiva. Many pilgrims visit here every year. Overnight stay in Gosaikunda.

Day 11 : Gosainkunda to Dhunche (2,030m/6,660ft)

We will have breakfast and head to Dhunche. It will take us 6 to 7 hours to reach Dhunche. On the way, you will enjoy the view of mountain peaks and landscapes. Overnight stay in Dhunche.

Day 12 : Dhunche to Kathmandu

Ascending the trail, we will drive back to Kathmandu. It will take us 7 hours to reach Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu, we will drop you at the Hotel. You can rest for the night in Kathmandu. Then, if you like, you can go for a quick shopping in the Thamel area.

Day 13 : Departure from Kathmandu.

Today you will be leaving Nepal. Our representatives will transfer you at Tribhuvan International Airport a few hours before your flight time. If you want any further treks in Nepal, you can contact us any time.

Useful Information


Which Season is best for this trekking?

Langtang - Gosaikunda Trek in Nepal can be done in any time of the year. But February, March, April (spring) and September, October and November (autumn) is the biggest season for this trekking. In this month the weather is clean and chance to see amazing view of Mountain peak. Most of the day is sunny gets more warm and easy for walking. While walking we see the different types of flower and fauna. While in winter (December-January-February) season most of the trekking roots are covered by Snow and have maximum cold we recommend only professional trekkers to choose this trek during winter time. The view will totally covered by fogs and snow however travelers come for enjoying with snow. Whereas, Monsoon season (June-July-August) is unfavorable time for trekking.  At the time there will be heavy rain. So, it will be difficult time of trekking and less chance of Mountain View.

What kinds of accommodation we get during this trip?

We provide 3-Star Hotel “Hotel BlissInternational or similar category hotel” in Kathmandu which is in the peaceful street on the edge of Thamel. We provide basic Tea-houses or Local lodge during trekking. All accommodation is in (Twin share basis) for, single supplementary charge ($160) extra.

What sort of meals we get during this trip?

We provide Buffet Breakfast in Kathmandu which is included in the cost. During trekking we provide three meals per day (i.e. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner per day) from the selected menu as per available in lodge and tea house. Food during trek is not so well decorated as Kathmandu However; most of the food is prepared by their local people in their field. The food is organic, delicious and quite healthy.

How fit should be trekker for this trip?

Langtang - Gosaikunda Trek is the modest trekking of Langtang Region so it can be done by any age groups who have good and fit health. It doesn’t does not required any experience before trekking. We do not recommending travelers who are suffering from blood pressure or any disease or medical situation before one year. We highly recommend to conceding with doctor before their trekking.


Cancellation Policy


To reserve your place in this trekking, you should complete the trip booking form along with 50% deposit of total trip cost and remaining payments should be paid before trip departure. 

  • 15 % of total trip cost will be charged, if cancellation takes place before 30 days of departure date of trip.
  • 30 % of total trip cost will be charged, if cancellation takes place before 30 days of departure date of trip
  • If cancellation takes place after trip departure or during the trip, your payments will not refunded.
