Mardi himal trek is relatively less known but one of the best places to trek in the Annapurna region. Located south of the most popular trekking route, the Annapurna Base camp trek the Mardi himal trekking route is very less explored. The trek offers beautiful and fascinating experience despite the rough and rugged trails. Mardi himal trek was opened for trekking in 2012. It is comparatively recent and newest trekking route in the Annapurna region. This is an ideal trek for those trekkers who love quieter places and to be surrounded by nature. There are fewer crowds of trekkers in the trails even in the favorable seasons. Walking under tree shades and the birds crippling adds to the uniqueness of the trek than others trekking trails in the region.

You’ll appreciate the solitary trails through lush green forest, captivating village and village lifestyle, terraced farmlands in the hills, valleys in the hills and Himalayas, roaring rivers and the mesmerizing views of the majestic Annapurna, Macchapuchre, Hiuchuli, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri ranges. You’ll get to witness the typical gurung and magar traditions and cultures in the villages.

The “Off the beat trek” begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and to Phedi from Pokhara. Phedi is the place where we hit the trails with our feet. The trail goes via the village of Dhampus, Deurali, other little villages and lush rhododendron forest offering magnificent views of Annapurna ranges, Hiuchuli, Macchapuchre, Dhaulagiri peaks to reach high camp of Mardi himal at 3540 meters above the sea level. From high camp, we’ll descend down to the village of Sidhing and Lumre and then drive back to Pokhara. 

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu, Transfer to Hotel. 
Day 02: Drive to pokhara (6-7 hours Drive).
Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali(45min Drive, 4-5 hours Trek). (2100m/6720ft).
Day 04: Deurali to Forest camp (2520m/8064ft): 6-7hours Trek.
Day 05: Forest camp to High camp (3540m/13600ft): 5-6 hours.
Day 06: High camp to upper viewpoint (4250m/13600ft), return back to low camp: 5-6 hours.
Day 07: Trek to Sidhing village (1700m/5440ft):6-7 hours.
Day 08: Trek to Lumre, Drive to Pokhara : 2-3hrs trek and 2 hours drive.
Day 09: Pokhara - Kathmandu 6 hour
Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu.

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal.

You’ll arrive at Trivhuwan International Airport at Kathmandu. Our airport representative will be at the airport to receive you with your name in a placard with a pleasant welcome smile. We’ll drive you to the hotel in Kathmandu for you stay in the capital. You can go around Thamel for shopping and to explore the nightlife in Kathmandu city.

Day 2 : Drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. (6-7 hours Drive)

After breakfast, we'll start our journey to Pokhara by road. It'll take approximately 6 hours to reach Pokhara, the beautiful city on the lakeside. You’ll start to feel the cool mountain breeze and pleasant weather at Pokhara itself. We’ll stay overnight here in Pokhara. In the evening, you can go for a walk at Phewa lake side and enjoy live music in local pubs.

Day 3 : Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali. (45min Drive, 4-5 hours Trek) (2100m/6720ft)

After breakfast at Pokhara, we’ll drive to Phedi with a short drive of 45 minutes from Pokhara. At Phedi, we’ll hit the trails where we will begin our trek on foot. Walking through trails via beautifully carved landscapes, terraced farms with magnificent views of Annapurna ranges, macchapuchre and Mardi himal we’ll reach the beautiful Deurali village, a small village located on a hilltop of a small hill. We’ll stay in a lodge overnight.

Day 4 : Deurali to Forest camp. (2520m/8064ft) 6-7hours Trek.

We’ll head towards Forest camp after breakfast at Deurali village. The trail leads through lush rhododendron forests and oak and maple trees. Trekking for 6-7 hours through the trail will reach us to Forest camp where we will spend our night in a local tea house.

Day 5 : Forest camp to High camp. (3540m/13600ft) 5-6 hours

We’ll continue trekking through oak and dense rhododendron forests admoring the flora and bio diversity of Nepal. we’ll reach low camp, from where we can enjoy the views of Annapurna ranges, macchapuchre and Mardi himal more closely. Hiking further from Low camp, we’ll walk through ridged valley. Ascending uphill continuously we’ll reach High camp. We also might see Danphe, the national bird of Nepal here. We’ll stay overnight at High camp.

Day 6 : High camp to upper viewpoint. (4250m/13600ft), return to low camp: 5-6 hours

Today, we’ll wake up early and start our trek to reach upper view point or Mardi Himal Base Camp. The Annapurna Sanctuary is clear in view from here. Eye striking panoramic views of the Annapurna himal, Hiuchuli peak, Macchapuchre himal are truly rewarding to the efforts. After a few hours at Upperview point, we’ll walk down to Low camp, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 7 : Trek to Sidhing village. (1700m/5440ft):6-7 hours

After breakfast at the Low camp, we’ll hit the trail to descend towards the village of Sidhing. Here is a drastic change in elevation from Low camp (3050 meters above sea level) to Sidhing village (1700 meters above sea level). After 5-6 hours walk downhill, we’ll reach the village of Sidhing where we spend our night in a lodge.

Day 8 : Trek to Lumre, Drive to Pokhara. (2-3hrs trek and 2 hours drive)

Today is the las day of our Mardi himal trek on foot. After breakfast at Sidhing, we’ll walk towards Lumre village which requires 2-3 hours to reach. Once at Lumre, we’ll take a tourist bus/ van to drive to Pokhara. It takes approximately 2 hours to reach Pokhara from Lumre by bus. We’ll stay overnight at Pokhara. You can go out for dinner, walk to the lakeside and live shows in the Pokhara city.

Day 9 : Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. (6 hours drive)

We will head towards Kathmandu by bus from Pokhara. On the way, you'll be having your snakes and lunch. By the late afternoon, you hit Kathmandu. We’ll drive you to your hotel. You can rest at your hotel and you can wander nearby places in the evening, visit the Thamel town, which is the famous for its pubs, bars, dining and nightlife at Kathmandu.

Day 10 : Final departure from Kathmandu.

This is your last day in Nepal. Our representative will be at the hotel to receive you and drive you to the Tribhuvan International Airport before a few hours of your departure. You can also visit some nearby restaurants in your free time if you want to before boarding the flight.

Useful Information


Which Season is best for this trekking?

Normally, Mardi Himal trekking in Nepal can be done in any time of the year. However February, March, April (spring) and September, October and November (autumn) is the biggest season for this trekking. In this month the weather is clean and chance to see amazing view of Mountain peak. Most of the day is sunny gets more warm and easy for walking. While walking we see the different types of flower and fauna. While in winter (December-January-February) season most of the trekking roots are covered by Snow and have maximum cold. The view will totally covered by fogs and snow however travelers come for enjoying with snow. Whereas, Monsoon season (June-July-August) is unfavorable time for trekking.  At the time there will be heavy rain. So, it will be difficult time of trekking and less chance of Mountain View.

What kinds of accommodation we get during this trip?

We provide 3-Star Hotel “Hotel BlissInternational or similar category hotel” in Kathmandu which is in the peaceful street on the edge of Thamel. Whereas “Hotel Crystal Palace or similar category hotel” in Pokhara nearby Phewa Lake. We provide basic Tea-houses or Local lodge during trekking. All accommodation is in (Twin share basis) for, single supplementary charge ($175) extra.

What sort of meals we get during this trip?

We provide Buffet Breakfast in Kathmandu and Pokhara which is included in the cost. During trekking we provide three meals per day (i.e. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner per day) from the selected menu as per available in lodge and tea house. Food during trek is not so well decorated as Kathmandu and Pokhara however; most of the food is prepared by their local people in their field. The food is organic, delicious and quite healthy.

How fit should be trekker for this trekking?

Mardi Himal Trekking trekking is the modest trekking of Annapurna Region so it can be done by any age groups who have good and fit health. It doesn’t does not required any experience before trekking. We do not recommending travelers who are suffering from blood pressure or any disease or medical situation before one year. We highly recommend to conceding with doctor before their trekking.


Cancellation Policy


To reserve your place in this trekking, you should complete the trip booking form along with 50% deposit of total trip cost and remaining payments should be paid before trip departure. 

  • 15 % of total trip cost will be charged, if cancellation takes place before 30 days of departure date of trip.
  • 30 % of total trip cost will be charged, if cancellation takes place before 30 days of departure date of trip
  • If cancellation takes place after trip departure or during the trip, your payments will not refunded.
