    Overview

    Upper Mustang trek is situated in the restricted zone of mustang. The trek starts from Kagbeni and the trail ahead via Lo- Manthang, Luri Gompa, Tenje and finish at Muktinath. One of the Good benefit of the trek is trekkers need not to follow the same trail while returning back. Luri Gompa made inside the cave is located at the height of (4300m) and believed as thousands of years old is the major attraction of this route.

    Day 03:  Kathmandu to Pokhara [823m/2,700ft]: 6 hrs drive

    Day 05:  Kagbeni to chele [3050m/10,004ft]: 5-6 hrs 

    Day 06:  Chele to Syanbochen [3475m/11,398ft]: 6-7 hrs

    Accommodation 

    As we arrived at Kathmandu we stay at “Hotel Bliss International” for 3 nights (Day 1, Day 2 and Day 16); located at the age of Thamel and, "Hotel Crystal Palace” in Pokhara for 2 nights (Day 3, Day 15). For the rest of the day during trekking we stay at local lodge or Tea-house during trekking. We provide 3-star hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara. While, basic Accommodation during trekking. All the rooms are in twin share basic. Single supplementary will charge $400/person extra. 

    Meals

    We served Buffet breakfast at hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara. And 3 meal per day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) during trekking. The meals are serviced as per your choice form the lodge menu. Important thing about the meals during trekking they look simple and basic but they grow it on their own field. So, it is organic and very healthy and gives energy for trekking.

  • Detail Itinerary
    • Day 1 Arrival, transfer to Hotel
      Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport where you will be welcomed by our representatives and they assist you to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After freshen up; you will be provided the necessary details about the trips in Nepal. There will be special meeting and Welcome dinner program with the following trekking staffs of Walkmountain.
    • Day 2 Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
      You will be collected by our tour guide for Kathmandu valley sightseeing, including several places of pilgrimages sites for Hindus and Buddhists , the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the world biggest Stupa; Boudhhanath, Swoyambhunath Stupa (monkey temple) and historical Kathmandu Durbar Square with unique architectural temple, and incredible Kumari widely known as Living Goddess in Basantapur of central kathmandu. There will be meeting with other members along with our fellow trekking staff at our office for a pre-trip in the evening.
    • Day 3 Kathmandu to Pokhara [823m/2,700ft]: 6 hrs drive
      We drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu Valley with cozy Tourist Bus with great views of Himalayans on the top of green hills. We will have plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of Fewa Lake which located in central Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel.
    • Day 4 Fly to Jomsom & trek to Kagbeni [2,858m/9,375ft]: 3-4 hrs
      A short super scenic flight brings you at Jomsom in the Kali Gandaki Valley. Here, we begin our trek to Kagbeni. Kagbeni means literally” bolt at the two rivers” and formerly controlled the trade. It is a village in Upper Mustang, Nepal, located in the valley of the Kali Gandaki River. Overnight at Kagbeni.
    • Day 5 Kagbeni to chele [3050m/10,004ft]: 5-6 hrs
      We head onwards to the riverbank of Kaligandaki upstream and slowly enter Mustang region. We continue follow the trail of the Kali Gandaki. We can see Kang Gompa, a centre of the Nyingmapa sect across the river. The trail continues north before crossing the river to the west bank and climbing out of the Kali Gandaki valley up a rocky gully to Chele at 3030m. overnight at Chele.
    • Day 6 Chele to Syanbochen [3475m/11,398ft]: 6-7 hrs
      Today we hike form Chele winning Taklam La Pass at 3624m through an arid plateaus which gives us good view over Tilicho Peak Yakawa Kang, Nilgiri and Damodar Danda. Then we descend to the popular stopping place of Samar at 3290m. A walk of 3 hours will reach us Syanbochen where we stop for the night.
    • Day 7 Syanbochen to Ghaymi [3520m/11,546ft]: 5-6 hrs
      After a hearty breakfast, we tackle the 7th day of our trek. We head uphill to the Yamda La (3850m) passing chortens (Buddhist shrines), stupa and few tea houses, with open Varanda, and crosses over a few other passes. We head for Nyi la Pass at 4010m and descend to Ghyami (3520m) and stop for the night.
    • Day 8 Ghaymi to Charang [3500m/11,480ft]: 4-5 hrs
      After breakfast we start our next trek to Charang. First we cross the Ghaymi Khola and pass a spectacular series of Mani walls (Secret stone wall which is made by the Buddhist followers) which heads east to Tsarang with corn fields and houses are alienated by stone wall at the top of Tsarang Chu.
    • Day 9 Charang to Lo-Mangthang (3700m/12,136ft): 5-6 hrs
      The trail trail decends to Tsarang Chu Canyon and then climbs onto the plateau after crossing the river. The trail offers the supreme scenery of Nilgiri, Tilicho Annapurna I and Bhrikuti Peak and descends to reach Lo La pass (3950m) from where you can see the first magnificent view of the walled city of Lo Manthang with its hills on the Tibetan Border. We continue descend to reach the Lo Manthang valley where we stop for the night.
    • Day 10 Explore Lo-Mangthang
      This day helps you to acclimatize your body in higher altitude. We take full day to explore the outstanding historical and cultural centre, Lo-Manthang. Today we visit 4 major Gompas around the Lo-Manthang including Namgyal Gompa, Champa Lakhang (God House), the red Thubchen Gompa, Chyodi Gompa and the Entrance Hall. They are the major attractions of Lo-Manthang and the entry fees for those places are to be made by your own. You will get lots of time to explore more and more places.
    • Day 11 Lo-Mangthang to Drakmar [3810 m/12,500ft]: 6-7 hrs
      The trail climbs ridge at 4070m and continues climbing to the Chogo La (4325m), the highest point on the trek then climbs to Lo Geker and reaches to Ghar gompa a small monastery. Climbing to the ridge, crossing a valley and then dropping down a steep eroded path you will reach Drakmar. We suggest morning trek as day time seems dusty and windy. Overnight at Drakmar.
    • Day 12 Dhakmar to Ghiling [3806m/12,484ft]: 5-6 hrs
      On this day we enjoy an early breakfast and then we continue our descent along a stream passing the stone walls, wheat fields and irrigated lands. We then make a short climb to the upper part of Ghami (3520m). Descend to lower part of Ghami then climb up to Ghami La (3765m) and continue climb up to Nyi La (4010m). After small descend you will meet two route and left hand side trail takes you to Geling (3570m) where we stop for the night.
    • Day 13 Ghiling to Chhuksang [2980m/9,777ft]: 5-6 hrs
      Today we start our trek from Ghiling to Chhuksang(3050m) for the overnight stop. The trail climbs up to Shyangbochen La (3850m) then slowly we descend to Shyangbochen (3800m). From Shyangmochen the trail follows the quite stream all the way down to Chhuksang. You will have wonderful journey with a majestic Himalayan view enjoying. Overnight at Chhuksang.
    • Day 14 Chhuksang to Jomsom [2700/8,856ft]: 6-7 hrs
      After a hearty breakfast, we tackle the last day of our trek. It’s quite long trek to Jomsom from Chhuksang. We follow the trails downstream the Kaligandaki River to reach Kagbeni (2800m) where we stop for the lunch and then we start our 3 hours journey to Jomsom through Ekle Bhatti (2740m). Jomsom is quite big town in Mustang region. We spend our leisure time exploring the surrounding area of Jomsom. Overnight at Jomson.
    • Day 15 Fly back to Pokhara
      After a very early buffet breakfast at the hotel, we make our way to the airport to fly back to Pokhara. The early dramatic flight of approximately 25 minutes with majestic mountains views of the Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Annapurna range above the World deepest Gorge takes us Pokhara which is a mesmerizing city.
    • Day 16 Pokhara - Kathmandu 6 hour
      Take a drive for 6 hours to Kathmandu which is 200km east from Pokhara on Prithivi highway enjoying the river side view and farm lands with great views of Himalayans up above the green hills. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
    • Day 17 Departure from Kathmandu for next trip or to your home
      This is the last day for you to enjoy in Nepal as you trek has come to an end. If you have days left and ready for next trip then let us know. If not our representative will transfer you to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination, taking with us the memories of wonderful moments spend with us.
